Victory on 18-20 Elsworthy Rd appeal

We're delighted that the Planning Inspectorate has upheld Camden Development Control Committee's decision to turn down the application for 18-20 Elsworthy Rd. Andrew Marshall and local residents objected to the application at Development Control last year, with the committee unanimously rejecting the application due to its impact on the Elsworthy Conservation Area. So well done to Camden planning officers and Labour Cllr and DC Chairman Tom Neumark for the evidence they gave to the Planning Inspectorate. Now let's hope that we get a more sensitive and appropriate application for this site.

Local NHS Public Annual Meeting - 15th September

The local NHS - the Camden Primary Care Trust - is holding its statutory public AGM on September 15th. As a new member of the Council's Health Scrutiny Committee, Andrew will try and get along. Given how much the NHS spends locally, and how much we all depend on it, this meeting should probably be better attended than it is usually is. Wrongly, it's being held at 2-5pm in the afternoon, which doesn't make it very easy for the bulk of the population that work to make it along. The NHS generally still needs to be more attuned to the needs of working people.

Full details in the NHS press release below:

Members of the public are invited to Camden PCT's Annual General Meeting on Thursday September 15, 2011.

The event will be held at the Conference Hall, St Pancras Hospital, 4 Pancras Way, NW1 0PE and will run from 2 pm to 5 pm.

Come along and find out how Camden PCT has performed over the last year and what the future plans are for local NHS services.

The agenda includes a presentation of the Camden PCT's annual report and accounts, an opportunity to have an NHS Health Check with one of our healthcare professionals, and a chance to meet the new Chair and other members of the new Clinical Commissioning Group.

If you would like to attend this event, please email Pravina Solanki at pravina.solanki@camdenpct.nhs.uk. Please let Pravina know if you have any special disability needs.
